The Aquatic Ecology Research Group (EcoAqua) at the Institute of Aquatic Ecology is one of the 17 groups at the University of Girona (UdG) distinguished as a Recognised and Funded Research Group by the Government of Catalonia 2017-2019 (2017 SGR 548). EcoAqua is a big interdisciplinary group, with long experience in several areas of limnological research, such as microbial ecology, ecotoxicology and the ecology of various types of organisms, from bacteria and algae to invertebrates and fish, in rivers, lakes, reservoirs and wetlands.
