Aquatic Ecology Research Group (EcoAqua)

The Aquatic Ecology Research Group (EcoAqua) is a Research Group Recognised by Government of Catalonia 2021-2023 (2021 SGR 1142).It previously received funding for the 2014-2016 (2014 SGR 484) and 2017-2019 (SGR 548) periods.

It includes much of the teaching and research staff from the UdG’s with research affiliated to the Institute of Aquatic Ecology(IEA, UdG), belonging to the groups GRCT002 (Molecular Microbial Ecology (gEMM)) and GRCT017 (Research Group on Ecology of Inland Waters (GRECO)) at the University of Girona (UdG), made up of teaching and research staff from the areas of Ecology (Dep.of Environmental Sciences) and Microbiology (Dep.of Biology ).

EcoAqua is a big interdisciplinary group, with substantial experience in different areas of limnological research, such as microbial ecology, ecotoxicology and the ecology of different types of ecosystems and organisations, from bacteria and algae to invertebrates and fish, in rivers, lakes, reservoirs and wetlands.You can find our publications  and research projects on this website and also on the IEA website.
