The Comparative Minds research group is an interdisciplinary group at Department of Psychology (Faculty of Education and Psychology) at the University of Girona which encompasses diverse areas, such as Comparative Psychology, Cognitive Psychology and Linguistics.The research performed here intends to look at some of the core questions about behaviour, cognition and communication, so in both humans and animals.

Comparative Minds is a founding member of the ISGS-Catalonia Hub, whose objective is to promote gesture studies in Catalonia. This hub aims to promote research and investigation into gestures and foster R&I collaboration both locally and internationally and across different disciplines, including, but not limited to linguistics, psychology, education, sign language R&I, and communication studies.

The research group also promotes the Master in Primatology at the University of Barcelona, a pioneering programme dedicated to training in the scientific study of the behaviour, cognition, and communication of primates. For more information, see the section Train with us
