Cities are constantly transforming, thanks increasingly to technology. Students will learn about the most current technologies being used, not only in the city environment but also in areas as interesting as logistics. This includes some aspects of Artificial Intelligence, as well as Big Data and Visual Analytic applications. The course also shows how many of these projects are financed, with both public and private funding sources, and presents a series of practical tasks that students can solve and send to the lecturer for their correction. For example, students will be able to analyse whether a logistics operator, in its expansion plan, should choose candidate cities that are immersed in a Smart City project; which smart technologies could incorporate a car park into the vehicle management system, or what data should be collected to analyse drivers' behaviour in the future; how to choose the best way of funding technological projects applied to Smart Cities; or, which are the main techniques and tools for designing a 4.0 city, amongst other aspects.
