Pere Parramon (Girona, 1977) holds a PhD in Art History and a Master’s degree in Communication and Art Criticism from the University of Girona, with training in Symbology from the University of Barcelona, among other areas, and in the management of public educational centres from the School of Public Administration of Catalonia. As a member of the Catalan Association of Art Critics (ACCA) and the International Association of Critics of Art (AICA), he has signed works, articles, and critiques in national and international catalogues and compilations, as well as in various periodicals (El Huffington Post, “Cultura|s” by La Vanguardia, Papers d’art, etc.). He is the author of the books Art contemporani a Girona, 1994-2019 (with M. Lluïsa Faxedas, GEiEG), Juego de tronos: Realidades, ficciones, turismos (with F. Xavier Medina, UCLM and UC) and Fridtjof Nansen: Retratos, impresiones (in preparation, Sd·edicions). In addition to fantastic art, on which he defended his doctoral thesis Arte fantástico: Estrategias visuales de lo imposible, he is interested in postcolonial art, gender issues and the relations between eras and artists. A career civil servant committed to teaching, he teaches at secondary school and on the Bachelor’s Degree in History of art at the University of Girona –previously also on the Integrative Master’s Degree in Art Therapy–, giving courses and lectures for numerous public and private institutions. In the field of educational management, he has been director of studies and headmaster of the Rafael Campalans High School. Regarding artistic and cultural management, he has been president of the Association of Friends of the Girona Art Museum, and exhibitions coordinator and assistant director of the Vila Casas Foundation. As an exhibition curator, he has organised exhibitions for different museums and foundations (Frederic Marès Museum, Les Bernardes, Girona Museum of Art, "la Caixa" Foundation, MUME, etc.). Member of the Association of Catalan Language Writers (AELC), with the novel El noi saltador i la reina dels guardians rossos he enters into fiction as an alternative form of reflection on the artistic phenomenon, a path he follows with La llengua dels ocells (both from Sd·edicions).
