Dr Xavier Casademont is a Serra Húnter fellow and researcher of Social Policy at the University of Girona. He holds a PhD from the same institution and two MA, one on “Citizenship and Human Rights: Ethics and Politics” from the University of Barcelona and another on International Migration, from the University Pontifícia Comillas (Madrid). His undergraduate training is a Bachelor of Political Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. From 2003 and 2017 he worked as an immigrant’s integration coordinator, as well as on planning and evaluation of Social Services. Since 2020 is the coordinator of the Social Work degree. He’s a professor at the University of Girona since 2011, and his research is focused on: Immigration, citizenship and diversity; Social policies and the Welfare State; Social Services; Democracy and political participation. He was an academic visitor at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society, University of Oxford.
