Professor Joan Pujol Planella completed his doctoral thesis under the direction of Dr. Julio Berbel Vecino, obtaining his doctorate in 2003 from the University of Córdoba. In his postdoctoral stage he carried out a 3-month research stay at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Bologna, under the tutelage of Dr. David Viaggi He is currently an associate professor at the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Girona. He has participated in different competitive research projects as a collaborating researcher. He has also participated in research agreements with regional organizations and companies in the agro-industrial sector. He is the author of various publications, including articles in indexed journals and book chapters. He has also participated in congresses, both national and international. His main line of research is the economics of irrigation water, although he has also worked on forest resource management optimization and life cycle analysis.
