The underwater robotics workshops, which are organised by the Institute of Computer Vision and Robotics Research, the Department of Computer Architecture and Technology and the Higher Polytechnic School, involve building a fully operative tele-operated underwater robot using easily accessible and low-cost materials, and carrying out realistic tests and missions in the test pool at the Underwater Robotics Research Centre.
The basic goal of these workshops is to carry out recreational scientific and technological activities that are not just interesting and appealing but also help to stimulate the interest of secondary-school students in technology and foster the very values of engineering. This goal is shared by the University of Girona's Social Council and the Higher Polytechnic School’s Board of Trustees that support this PRESUB underwater robotics workshops summer camp.
The camp costs €90 per participant, and offers 16 places.
To sign up for the activity students will need to send an e-mail to Xavier Cufí (xavier.cufi@udg.edu ) giving their contact details (email and telephone number) and the secondary school they come from.
The deadline for submitting applications is 30 June. The selection process will take place during the first week of July 2023, and the students chosen will be notified in good time by email. The latest details will then be given and the payment method stated.
Where the demand for is more than the 16 available places, students will be selected on the basis of their academic record.
