Francesc Feliu is a full professor of Catalan Philology of the University of Girona.Dr Feliu Torrent is a research member of the Institute of Catalan Language and Culture, and principal researcher, together with Professor Josep Maria Nadal, of the History of Language and Normative Language Research Group.

In particular he has devoted himself to studying the history of Catalan philology, the history of Catalan literature and the history of linguistic ideas, and has participated in numerous research projects, always based on the fundamental idea that languages are essentially a cultural and historical construction.This theoretical paradigm has allowed him, precisely, the collaboration with specialists of other areas and linguistic contexts, in initiatives and projects of international character research.

Josep M. Nadal Farreras, born in Girona in 1949, is an emeritus professor at the University of Girona.He holds a PhD in Hispanic Philology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (1975) and became a full professor in 1987.He worked at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where he held various management positions until the University of Girona was created in 1991.He was president of the Management Committee when the university was first established (1991) and rector from 1993 to 2002. From 2010 to 2012, he was director of the Department of Philology and Communication. He is a member of the Institute of Catalan Language and Culture, honorary director of the Observatory of European and Mediterranean Languages (ODELLEUM), and principal researcher on several projects initiated by the History of Language Group at the University of Girona. He was the driving force behind Jaume Casademont chair for interdisciplinary debate and, since 2009, a full member of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans.
