The course will be graded with the individual reports that will be proposed. Not all cases discussed in the course will require writing a report. The cases that will be evaluated will be presented at the beginning of the course with the associated deadlines. The student is asked to write a report including the set up of his/her strategy to solve the problem, the results of the simulation and an assessment of the results bearing in mind the hand calculations that can be done with tables, standards or formulae found in Machine Design textbooks. Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:Those students that do not deliver any report after the first four weeks of the course will be graded as "No presentat" (NP), which is understood as having abandoned the course.
The student should have a basic knowledge of the principles of mechanics, stress and strain calculation and machine elements. It is expected that the student will be following (or had followed in a previous academic year) these courses of the MMMS: - The finite element method in structural mechanics - Pre and post-process tools for structural finite element analyses - Solid mechanics
