Life at the UdG

Addiction and Counselling Service

Griselda Pozo, Sergi Garcia and Meritxell Perich

Place: Office 105 of module 20 (1st floor). Mòduls centrals, Campus Montilivi.

We offer a brief support format, of up to 5 individual sessions per student.

Follow-up can then be made in a group format through the Parenthesis Group. 

The first visit needs to be face-to-face (except for Erasmus students, students ill at home etc.).

What do we offer?

A space for you!Safe, confidential, free.Through individual sessions and the Parenthesis Group, we help you to manage stress, anxiety, demotivation, improving your relationships and taking healthy decisions.We help you to understand yourself better and to face complicated situations.We also offer you information and support about consumption of substances.If you need more help, we provide guidance on specialised resources. 

If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel it as soon as possible so that another student can take advantage of it.Students who fail to comply may have restricted access to new enquiries.

Do the sessions cost anything?

No, the service is free for all UdG students. 

Are the sessions confidential?

Yes, everything you tell us is confidential, except in cases where we are obliged by law: situations that put your life, your integrity or that of other persons at risk. 

What’s the maximum number of sessions I can ask for?

In the case of the individual psychological support, 5 sessions per student per academic year.In the case of support in sexual health, there is no limit. 

When the 5 sessions of psychological support come to an end, how can I continue using the service?

You can carry on getting psychological support through the Parenthesis Group offered every Monday from 3.30 pm to 5 pm. 

If I have to reschedule or cancel a visit, how do I do it?

It’s really easy!Simply go to the automatic email you got when you requested it and press the button for rescheduling or cancelling it.If you have any doubts or queries, please contact: inclusio.diversitat@udg.edu

If I have been diagnosed with a mental disorder, can I access the Health Space for treatment sessions?

Not.The Health Space offers orientation and support of a preventive nature.For psychopathology treatment, contact your CAP.For emergencies, contact 061 or the Psychiatric Emergency Department at the Hospital Santa Caterina. 

If I need professional guidance, is the Health Space the place to ask for it ?

No, for work guidance you need to contact the Professional Orientation Service at UdG Employment.It is located in the central modules (Module 27, campus Montilivi): 972 41 80 76.Alternatively, you can go to the Estació Espai Jove, the young people’s space in Girona. 

If I need to adapt my study plan, is the Health Space the place to ask for it?

No, to adapt your curriculum, you have to contact the Area of Inclusion at the UCSOP.It is located in the central modules (Module 20, campus Montilivi): 972 41 96 47.
