Addictions and affective and sexual health Counselling Service

For UdG students

The addiction-prevention and sexuality service was created under a collaboration framework healthcare-promoting agreement between the University of Girona (Social Commitment Unit) and Girona City Council (Youth Health Centre).

What do we offer?
  • Guidance and support for (alcohol, cannabis etc.,) consumption or behaviour (betting, screens etc.,) experienced as a problem.
  • We guarantee an approach that promotes independence and own responsibility.
  • We provide tools and skills for making a change and preventing consumption or behaviour from becoming a serious problem.
  • Holistic perspective: managing emotions and thoughts, working on preparing and assertively expressing them.
  • Work on group pressure, relations and communication with a group of equals.
  • Early detection of addiction problems and guidance in specialist welfare resources where necessary.
  • One-hour-long sessions.
  • Safe work environment: free of patronising attitudes, judgements, moralising speeches, aggressive or hostile behaviour, etc.
Public-assistance times:
Thursdays, from 9 am to 2 pm 
Place:
Lecture building at the UdG Montilivi Campus (C/ Maria Aurèlia Capmany, Girona)

The </g>first visit</g> has to be </g>face to face</g> (except for individuals on the Erasmus programme, at home because of an illness, etc.)

If you are unable to attend the session, cancel it as soon as possible, so another student can take your place. Students who fail to comply may have restricted access to new inquires..

  • Free emergency contraception (next-day pill).
  • Pregnancy tests and abortion advice.
  • Guidance in preventive methods.
  • Free access to condoms.
  • Clearing up queries over sexuality.
  • 20 minute-long sessions.
  • Safe work environment: free of patronising attitudes, judgements, moralising speeches, aggressive or hostile behaviour etc.
