Lines of research

of the project

SKELETONS

Our research group, together with the GREP, has demonstrated that the 3D cell culture with skeletons expands the population of tumour mother cells, which helps to study them and to develop specific new drugs to fight this malignant population.

3D cell culture

Another line of research, focused on both breast and lung cancer, is 3D cell culture centred on the study of tumorous mother cells. The tumour stem cells represent a small percentage of the cancer (< 1 %) but they have the capacity to start a tumour and present resistance to chemotherapy, which raises the likelihood of relapses.

Health and communication

A recent research line in Targetslab is Health and Communication. The main goal is to generate expertise in science communication. It deals with the subjects of Corporate and Social Communication and Public Relations.

The subjects that we consider range from analyses of the Education doctors in Catalonia receive for communicating bad news (in process) to Creating visual identities as a feature of science communication. The Publicity or the Perception of quality in a primary healthcare (part of Jordi Serra's doctoral thesis whose viva is this 2020) are other subjects that have awakened our interest and which have generated articles or Bachelor's thesis research.

This line of research has included collaboration from several Bachelor's Degree students of Advertising and Public Relations at the UdG who have directed their Bachelor's Degree Thesis (TFG) towards this field of research in social sciences.

From a more applied perspective, specialist Targetslab researchers in communication are in charge of the disseminating the research generated in the team as well as creating the outreach contents published on this website.
