The purpose of this joint degree is to broaden the knowledge and the competences typical of the master enabling students to become industrial engineers regulated by Order CIN/311/2009 in the direction of data science and artificial intelligence, extremely important fields in modern times.This new knowledge will enable students to acquire an education specialising in different techniques, algorithms and processes so they can extract knowledge from any data source and be capable of developing and/or directing and managing a data science project.From a research perspective, this knowledge opens the door to artificial intelligence, statistics or mathematics.
The combination of a knowledge industrial engineering data science will give rise to professionals capable of studying in more depth the performance of processes and the productive environment, and more capable of optimising them, either by interpreting the information extracted from the data or developing tools to assist decision making.In general, this combination will make it possible to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and competitiveness of industry 4.0.
