Government of Catalonia’s Third Languages Programme

The Government of Catalonia’s third language programme is aimed at promoting knowledge of a third language (English, French, German or Italian) from CEFR level A1 to C2 among bachelor’s-degree students at Catalan universities.

Call: Grants for students enrolled at a Catalan university during the 2025-2026 academic year who have been awarded a general grant for post-compulsory studies or an Equity scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year, to promote the education and accreditation of third languages

Important information:

  • Online application using the digital certificate.
    • 1st period: from 12 September to 24 October (2 pm) 
    • 2nd period: from 2 February to 13 March (2 pm)
    • 3rd period: from 1 to 26 June (2 pm)
  • Only one application for the Talk 3 grant can be submitted by bachelor's degree students for the same language and level.
  • Grant awarded: a maximum of €480 (price of a 90-hour course at the UdG - languages).
  • UdG documents that must be submitted with the application:
    • Proof of university enrolment on a bachelor's degree (from La meva UdG).
    • Proof of enrolment on the language course: click on the top tab “Print enrolment”, in the activity information of your Languages file

Important new condition: in the event you are beneficiaries of the grant and have received the corresponding payment but, in the end, neither pass the course nor accredit you have the language level, you will have to repay the amount received.

Call: Grants for training in, and the accreditation of, third language​for students enrolled on bachelor’s degree programmes at a Catalan university, 2024-2025 academic year (PARLA 3).Category A (free examinations) and category B (courses)

Important information:

  • Online application using the digital certificate.
  • Period: 13 May to 30 September (2 pm)
  • Only one application may be submitted (category A or B ) for the same language and level.
  • Type A: To cover the cost of enrolment for the tests in English, German, French or Italian at any CEFR level.Tests to obtain the Catalan Universities Language Certificate (CLUC), the language tests administered by Catalan universities that evaluate the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and tests to obtain the certificates from official language schools in Catalonia. 
  • Type B:For having completed and passed a language course at any CEFR level or sub-level or equivalent of a third language at a Catalan university language school, at an EOI (official language school) or at the IOC (Open Institute of Catalonia).
  • Grant covering: a maximum of €75 for free examinations passed (category A) or €350 for courses passed (category B).
  • UdG documentation to be submitted:
    • Proof of university enrolment on a bachelor's degree (from La meva UdG).
    • Certificate accrediting the course or free examination: click on "Certificate-CA" in your UdG Languages report.
    • The payment receipt or receipts for the examination or course done: click on “Enrolment receipt”, in the activity information, in your UdG Languages report.
