How do I communicate with students?

Announcements forum

A special case of Moodle forums is the one found at the start of any course, entitled Notices and news. It's actually not a 'real' forum as only the subject professors can add messages. It does, however, have a great advantage: anything that's published in this forum generates an email that is sent to all subject participants. It's a very good way to send a mass notification to all students. You can also filter this forum so that only students in a specific group get the message. You can find out how to do it in this video .

Internal Moodle messaging service

Moodle has its own internal messaging service. You can use this service to communicate with anybody in the UdG Moodle community. One of the main advantages is that all conversations are stored on the subject page. This service is very easy to use. Find out how to do it in this video .

Use the Moodle calendar

Moodle allows you to add a calendar to the sidebar of each subject. This calendar can automatically add delivery dates for tasks and the days on which any questionnaires you might create in your subject open and close. You can also add other events that aren't linked to tasks, for example, scheduling tutorials with the various student groups.

You can see how to add and manage Moodle calendars in this video .
