Cancellation of enrolment by accident, due to serious illness or exceptional circumstances

In the case of suffering an accident or serious illness, duly justified, or in exceptional situations or force majeure, duly accredited and preventing the student from following academic activity, they may request a complete or partial cancellation of the enrolment outside the period established fro ordinary applications.

Application 

Who

All UdG students who, because of accident, severe illness or exceptional circumstances, are not able to follow academic activity can request this.

Where

The application must be submitted online, through the UdG Online Secretary's Office.

How?

To formalise the application, you must access the “Procedures” section of the Virtual Secretary’s Office, start the generic procedure "Application to the administration” and choose the option “Cancellation of enrolment due to accident, severe illness or exceptional circumstances”.

The applicant must specify whether a total or partial annulment of enrolment is being requested, and secondly the subjects to be cancelled.

The new access students who, together with the total cancellation request, are requesting deferral to the following course must indicate this expressly on the application.

In the case of accidents or severe illnesses, the application must include an official medical report by the Catalan Health Service or an equivalent organisation, showing the start date and the date of diagnosis of the illness, and specifying that the student cannot follow academic activity normally.

In the case of exceptional circumstances or force majeure, the request must be accompanied by documentation that accredits this situation.

Who

The Vice-Rectorate for Teaching and Academic Planning, given the proposal of the office of the dean or the director of the corresponding teaching institution, will decide on the request.

How?

Once the procedure has been completed, the student will receive an electronic notification with a link to the resolution of the application.

If the request is approved, the complete cancellation may give the right to the refund of the amount for the credits enrolled on; the cancellation of subjects enrolled on entitles the student to a refund for the amount of the credits of the subjects cancelled.

For new students who have requested this, the total cancellation of enrolment due to accident or severe illness also entails the right to deferral to the following academic course, so that they do not have to complete pre-enrolment again.
