Recognition of activities performed outside the School of Doctoral Studies

Doctorate

Given that, from the academic year 2017-2018, by agreement of the Board of Directors, all new doctoral students must complete a minimum of 20 hours on educational courses offered by the School of Doctoral Studies, and given the difficulties some doctoral students who live outside Girona may have in meeting this requirement, the Academic Committee of the School of Doctoral Studies has agreed that some of the educational activities undertaken by doctoral students outside the educational programme offered by the School of Doctoral Studies at the UdG may be submitted for academic recognition.

Application

Who

This can be requested by students enrolled in a UdG own doctoral programme or a joint doctoral programme coordinated by the UdG who, having enrolled on and passed 20 hours of School of Doctoral Studies training courses, want to submit activities they have carried out outside the programme of activities offered by the School of Doctoral Studies of the UdG for academic recognition.

Where
The application must be submitted online, through the UdG Online Secretary's Office.
When
The application can be submitted at any moment of the academic course.
How?

To formalise the application, you must access the “Procedures” section of the Virtual Secretary’s Office to start the generic formality “Application to the administration”, choosing the option “Recognition of activities carried out outside the educational offer of the School of Doctoral Studies” and attach everything in a single file:

  • A standard application form duly filled in and signed, which specifies the activity for which recognition is being requested. The model can be downloaded from the formspage.
  • The documentation that certifies the activity carried out and, in particular, a certificate of attendance, or equivalent, which clearly states the academic institution organising the activity and its duration in hours.

Decision

Who

The body responsible for resolving the application is the academic committee of the corresponding doctoral programme.

How?
Once the procedure has been completed, the student will receive an electronic notification with a link to the resolution of the application.
The resolution does not represent the end of the administrative process. An appeal may be lodged with the Rector of the University against the resolution within a period of one month following the day of the notification, in accordance with the provisions of articles 121 and in accordance with Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on common administrative procedure for public administrations.
