Biography

With a degree in Chemical Sciences from the UAB and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Girona, he is a Full Professor of Chemical Engineering and an enthusiastic professor at the Faculty of Science in the fields of chemical engineering, clean production, and the urban water cycle.He implemented and coordinated the Master’s in Water Resources Science and Technology, using a problem-based learning teaching methodology and achieving AQU accreditation of excellence. 

As a researcher in the Laboratory of Chemical and Environmental Engineering research group at the UdG, his research has mainly focussed on biological and membrane treatment of urban waste water, and on the application of artificial intelligence to the environment.With two post-doctoral stays (in Berkeley and Chicago), two patents have arisen from his research and he is a founding member of two spin-offs.With extensive international experience in the field of qualification and development cooperation. 

In the field of academic management, among others, he has been the director of the Institute of the Environment and the INCIBE Chair in Digitalisation and Hydric Cybersecurity, as well as directing the Area of Technologies and Evaluation of the Catalan Institute for Water Research (CERCA centre affiliated with the UdG).
