Dance of death: psychological and anthropological perspective of death

The Dance of Death Chair, promoted by the University of Girona, the Associació de la Processó de Verges, the IAS (Institute of Healthcare), and Àltima, promotes study and reflection on death from a psychological, anthropological, historical, cultural, and bioethical perspective. Its aim is to generate, disseminate and transfer knowledge about the processes associated with death, as well as to preserve the cultural heritage linked to the Dance of Death in Verges, one of the most deeply rooted expressions of Catalan popular culture.
Through research, training and dissemination, the chair acts as a meeting point between the academic world, health professionals and citizens, fostering an interdisciplinary debate on the meaning of life and death in contemporary society.
