Widespread School: Innovating Teaching Approaches Outside the Classroom

"Widespread School: Innovating Teaching Approaches Outside the Classroom" is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ - KA220 Action programme. The consortium, led by the Reggio Emilia Town Council from Italy, has seven partners from four countries (Italy, Croatia, Finland and Spain) with different profiles in the sphere of education.

This project is born of the experience of “Scuola Diffusa”, which appeared in Reggio Emilia during the Covid-19 pandemic as an emergency solution to promote the return to on-site teaching during the crisis.

Inspired by the experience of Scuola Diffusa, the project aims to revolutionise teaching methods beyond traditional education by promoting the integration of Education Outside the Classroom (EOC) approaches in the educational contexts of the partners. It considers communities as valuable educational resources and recognises their enriching value in school systems. The main goals include improving the quality of primary and secondary education, reinforcing the skills of teaching staff and having a positive impact on students by promoting key skills such as critical thought and creativity.

Started in September 2023, the project will last three years.
