The general objective of this project funded by the European Union is to combat gender-based violence and improve the well-being of LGBTIQ children through a comprehensive educational approach that connects educational environments with rainbow families.The CLICK project contributes to the well-being of LGBTIQ children by working closely both with rainbow families, understood as any family with an LGBTIQ member, and with education professionals.By placing the child’s interests at the centre, the project promotes active collaboration between these two types of stakeholders, who reflect beyond their own contexts.

The project is developed through the adoption of a child-centred perspective, in which children are the protagonists of their own development.The CLICK project incorporates an intersectional approach ensuring that the interests of all LGBTIQ children are placed at the centre.To achieve this, the diversity of identities and experiences are a constitutive element of all project activities.Likewise, the published materials include a direct reference to the intersectional approach.

The CLICK project addresses the priorities set by the main bodies and policies of the European Union, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

• To increase the understanding of the experiences of LGBTIQ children in relation to anti-LGBTIQ violence and discrimination as gender-based violence, as well as their resilience practices.
• To analyse the current legislation and policies linked to LGBTIQ children, rainbow families and education and gender-based violence focusing on LGBTIQ matters as well as mapping the professional practices promoting the good practices.
• To raise awareness about the rights of LGBTIQ children.
• To promote safe spaces free from gender-based violence for LGBTIQ children to enhance their confidence, developing actions specifically aimed at improving the well-being of trans and intersex children.
• To establish an active relation between education professionals and rainbow families with LGBTIQ children’s interests as the main focus.
• To increase the expertise of education professionals working with children, reinforce their capacity to support and empower LGBTIQ children from an intersectional approach, and increase the local capacity of education professionals to address issues related to gender-based violence against LGBTIQ children.
• To promote the implication of policy makers in the well-being of LGBTIQ children throught the publication of the national reports, public policies’ webinar, position paper, media articles and final conference.
• To promote attitude and behaviour changes in the general society that help create a context for LGBTIQ children and teenagers free from gender-based violence.

Independent evaluator. Dr Giacomo Viggiani conducts an expert evaluation to ensure that all activities are on track with the project timeline and that results/milestones are achieved as well as to highlight recommendations and ensure that all project objectives have been met correctly.

International Advisory Board (IAB). A consultative body assesses the project results and contributes to improve the project proposals, both through remote evaluation of project outputs and participation in project meetings and activities.The Committee is formed by three experts on gender and childhood at an international level:
