To achieve these overall objectives, three Work Packages (WP) are planned and Specific Goals (SG) for each WP, as well as their Principal Investigators (PI) responsible of them, have been defined:
WP1- Determination of the origin and evolution of ponds and lagoons.
SG1.1- Geophysical characterization of the Albera ponds systems. PI responsible: C. Roqué (UdG).
SG1.2- Analysis of the dependence on regional and/or local groundwater fluxes in ponds and lagoons to determine their resilience to climate change. PI responsible: A. Menció (UdG) with the assistance of A. Alorda (UAB).
WP2- The role of the aquifer-pond dynamics in pollution occurrence, processes and effects
SG2.1- Determination of the effects of pulse vs continuous nitrogen inputs in aquifer-pond systems. PI responsible: A. Menció (UdG) with the collaboration of N. Perujo (UFZ) and V. Amore (UdG).
SG2.2- Modeling hydrological and ecological dynamics in coastal lagoons to identify critical points of management practices. PI responsible: X. Casamitjana (UdG).
WP3- Data management, communication and dissemination of the results
SG3.1- Definition and development of the data management plan (DMP) and of the dissemination and communication plan (DCP). PI responsible: A. Menció, C. Roqué and the collaboration of D. Brusi (UdG).
