Access, admission and enrolment

Previous degree requirements

Evidence of an official bachelor's degree or pre-EHEA degree certificate, preferably in the fields of Biology and Medicine. Mainly related to the following degrees:

  • Degree or pre-EHEA degree in Biology 
  • Degree or pre-EHEA degree in Medicine 
  • Degree or pre-EHEA degree in Biotechnology
  • Degree or pre-EHEA degree in Biochemistry 
  • Degree or pre-EHEA degree in Microbiology 
  • Degree or pre-EHEA degree in Genetics
  • Degree or pre-EHEA degree in Chemistry

For degrees obtained in other fields, such as Engineering or Architecture, as well as diploma qualifications in Technical Engineering and Technical Architecture, admission will be dependent on the conditions established by the university in each case. Likewise, considering the appropriateness of skills and knowledge generated in subjects studied and those set out in the curriculum of the master's degree in question, the UdG may request additional education from those who intend on applying for the master's degree. In each specific case, and depending on the education received by the candidate, the admission committee will define the degree courses required in terms of curricular adaptation. In any case, these courses will be chosen from the range of degree programmes offered by the University of Girona.

Language requirement:

You will be required to prove a B1 level of English or equivalent, and an accrediting certificate will be requested if it does not appear on your academic record. Check out the ways for confirming your level of English. If in doubt, send your certificate to

Admission and enrolment

You will need to complete your University Pre-Enrolment to access the master’s degree.

Once pre-enrolment has been completed, the Admission Committee for the master's degree will appraise applications, prioritising them in line with the following criteria: 

  1. Academic record of the accredited official training, weighted based on the average mark at the university of origin.
  2. Complementary academic or professional training. Certifications or certificates of other complementary training in similar fields to the contents of the master's degree.
  3. Work experience in the areas of the master's degree, providing a declaration by the company indicating the time and tasks performed. Experience in the field of the research, indicating time spent at recognised research centres and publications relating to the subject areas of the master's degree.
  4. Justified application with letters of recommendation, as appropriate.
  5. Interview with the director of the master's degree.
