Interstate and geopolitical relations form the framework of the dynamics of power, security and conflict at a global level. This line studies the factors that generate and modulate international conflicts, national and international security strategies, as well as the forms and conditions of co-operation between states and other global actors. It also analyses the role of international organisations, global governance systems and political responses to problems such as terrorism, trade wars and humanitarian crises.
