Our research is noted for sharing the premises of the qualitative methodological perspective. As noted by Taylor and Bogdan (1986), opting for this methodological theoretical framework represents not so much a set of techniques for collecting data but rather a way of taking on the empirical world on the basis of searching for understanding in its frame of reference, instead of mean predictions and explanations. We share the idea that qualitative research is characterised, among other things, by the following: · individuals, groups and the contexts are considered as a whole, not reduced to variables. And account is taken of the whole context’s past and present information; · it is based on induction, because the aim is to understand through the information. This brings flexibility and originality to the research's design; · it is a matter of understanding the situation in its own frame of reference; · it emphasises the research’s validity and significance and stays clear, from the start, of non-contextualised generalisations.Opting for this methodology in the research also entails assuming, as pointed out by Íñiguez (1999), a change in research sensitivity and a commitment to guaranteeing participationThis position allows us to reach a specific goal, daily life practices, and to generate knowledge under rigorous and plausible criteria (Plà, 1999).
