Area of research: Personal welfare and active and satisfactory ageing.

research area begun by Girona City Council in 1999, from the study carried out on quality of life of the elderly residents in the city.Further collaborations have subsequently been made with the entity for the purposes of identifying people over the age of 64 in situations of risk.This has a sub-area focused on studying the process of adaptation to life events occurring during ageing, as well as another aimed at taking a deep look at certain satisfactory- and active-ageing events, fundamentally in two of the aspects proposed by WHO: promoting elderly people’s health and participation.Finally, the matter of carrying out volunteer work among elderly people has been incorporated here on health issues.
