Personal data protection

The data protection regulations apply whenever the research project deals with personal data, i.e. information relating to an identified or identifiable person, and must be provided for both in the design, execution and publication of the work.

In order to guarantee the right of participants to the processing of personal data, as indicated by the regulations governing this fundamental right, the Committee on Research Ethics and Biosafety of the University of Girona (CEBRUdG) evaluates research projects with individuals, establishing the guidelines that derive from the data protection and security-ICT regulations.

It is recommended to take into account the possibility of achieving the objectives of the Research and Investigation project without having to process personal data (for example, using anonymous data).Only on the assumption that the objectives cannot be achieved without treating these data, then they must be collected and treated in accordance with the considerations of the CEBRUdG, https://www.udg.edu/ca/protecciodedades/recerca-i-proteccio-de-dados
