DR TERESA PUIG MIQUEL

Biochemistry - IP

Holder of a undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). In 2001, Teresa obtained a doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the UAB. She is currently a full professor at the Department of Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Girona (UdG). She is also the main researcher in the New Therapeutic Targets Research Group (TargetsLab_Oncologia). She has successfully developed her own research line with several collaborations, both Spanish and international, focused on the study and characterisation of the therapeutic potential of blocking metabolism of fatty acids (FAS), for the treatment of breast cancer, and the molecular study of the role of drug resistances in patients with HER2+ breast cancer and triple negative breast cancer (TNBC).
