Public policy and actions towards immigrant integration (3501MO3290) By recognising the impacts of population movements in both migrant societies and receiving societies, this subject focuses on how the receiving society welcomes and integrates a new, complex and multidimensional reality. To work on this topic, it addresses topics such as the concept of integration, the multilevel governance of immigration and the role of local governments in generating social cohesion. Workshop on methodology II: Qualitative techniques (3501MO3294) As with the previous point, the intention is for students to acquire skills for the use of qualitative techniques in research work.In this case the course looks at techniques such as interviews, discussion groups, observation, participation and discourse analysis. Two specific statuses: Refugees and Foreign unaccompanied minors (3501MO3305) The course will also look at the right to asylum for migrants and the gaining of refugee status, paying particular attention to the social rights that can be gained.In addition, in light of the increased presence of young migrants without family referents, known as "MENAS", an analysis will be made of the rights of guardianship and residence provided by the authorities, as well as the social situation they find themselves in during the guardianship stage, as well as when they come of age. Human mobility as right, mobilization and ressistance (3501MO3308) Through practical cases, the subject seeks to offer legal tools for the enforceability of the rights of migrants in the face of situations posing different threats: borders (summary returns, conditions of control and refusal), internment centres, police identifications, discriminatory treatment in access to public services and more.An analysis will also be made of the resistance and struggle of migrant communities in the territories of origin, transit and destination.
