Assessment and Grading

Assessment activities:

Description of the activity Assessment Activity % Remediable subject
Case studies Description of the solution, discussion of the results and conclusions report 35 No
Numerical simulations Description of the solution, discussion of the results and conclusions report 30 No
Resolution of proposed exercices Description of the solution, discussion of the results and conclusions report 35 No

Grading

FM = Final Mark
PE = Resolution of proposed exercises
S = Simulations
CS = Case studies

FM= 0.25*PE + 0.25*S + 0.50*CS

For a given category (i.e. PE, CS and S), the student will have to present individual or group original reports covering all the contents of the course.

The mark for each category (PE, CS and S) is the mean of the marks of the individual reports.

Evaluation activities cannot be retaken.

Plagiarism will be especially prosecuted. Students submitting not original reports of FE models will receive a 0 as global mark for the course.

Specific criteria for the "No show" grade:
Those students that do not hang in the reports for each category in the established delivery time will take a No Show (NP) mark.

Single Assessment:
In case of unique evaluation, the student will be asked to provide a full-assignment of the global course

Minimum requirements to pass:
To pass the course, an overall minimum mark of 5 is needed.

Mentorship

There will be specified weekly time frames for on-line tutorships (via Microsoft Teams or any other platform approved by UdG). Electronic mail can also be used to solve questions or doubts and set tutorship appointments out of the specified times frames.

Communication and interaction with students

Communication with students will be via e-mail and the News forum of the course’s Moodle. Individual on-line meetings will be possible for a personalised monitoring.

Recommended subjects

  • El mètode dels elements finits en la mecànica d'estructures
  • Mecànica de sòlids
