Competences

Assessment and Grading

Assessment activities:

Description of the activity Assessment Activity % Remediable subject
Analysis of case studies The quality of the technical solution provided is evaluated 80 No
Results presentation The oral and written communication skills are evaluated 20 No

Grading

FM = Final Mark

CS = Analysis of case studies
RP = Results presentation (oral and written communication skills)

FM= 0.8*CS + 0.2*RP

The student will have to present individual or group original reports covering all the contents of the course.
The mark for each category is the mean of the marks of the different reports.

Evaluation activities cannot be retaken.

Plagiarism will be especially prosecuted. Students submitting not original reports of FE models will receive a 0 as global mark for the course.

Specific criteria for the "No show" grade:
Only those students that do not hang in any of the reports will receive a No Show (NP) mark.

Single Assessment:
The student will be asked to prepare one or variuos project reports on the analysis, modelling and evaluation of results of different engineering cases covering the main aspects of the course.

Minimum requirements to pass:
The minimum mark to pass the course is 5.0 over 10

Mentorship

There will be specified weekly time frames for tutorships. Electronic mail can be also used to solve questions or doubts and set tutorship appointments out of the specified times frames.

Communication and interaction with students

Communication with students will be via e-mail and the News forum of the course’s Moodle. Individual meetings will be possible for a personalised monitoring.

Recommended subjects
