Descripció:
- La globalització és un fenomen en disputa al voltant del qual hi ha opinions dividides sobre si té conseqüències positives –en termes d’integració igualitària de les societats en els processos polítics, econòmics i culturals mundials– o negatives -sobretot pel que fa a la creixent i acccentuada desigualtat econòmica, així com a l’imperialisme cultural i/o colonialisme que l'acompanyen-. Aquest curs avalua el complex procés de globalització explorant majoritàriament la seva dimensió política des d’un enfocament interdisciplinari. Examinant críticament els impactes d'aquest fenomen en el desenvolupament econòmic, les relacions de gènere, el medi ambient, la ciutadania i el règim de drets humans, explorarem el paper dels individus, els estats, les organitzacions econòmiques internacionals i actors no estatals, així com els moviments de resistència contra la globalització -l'anomenada globalització contra-hegemònica o globalitazció des de baix.
Aquesta assignatura s'impartirà majoritàriament de forma presencial.

Qualificació
Presenting a work as one's own when it has actually been generated by AI undermines the principle of academic integrity. Using artificial intelligence to generate any task for this course will be considered as plagiarism since the work submitted is not original to the student and will result in a failing grade.
Should the teaching staff have doubts regarding the authorship of any assessment task, the student may be required to attend an in-person or synchronous interview (which may be recorded) in order to verify their knowledge and competencies and to confirm the authorship of the assessment. If it is not possible to confirm that the student is the author of the assessment, the assessment will be awarded a failing grade

Students who do not submit the activities will be graded as "not attended".
Avaluació única:
For those who fail to attend classes (students must attend a minimum of 5 sessions in order to to be graded through the continuous assessment system), evaluation will consist of:
1. An exam (60%)
2. Critical summaries of five of the compulsory readings (40%)
Requisits mínims per aprovar:
- The continuous assessment system will only be available for students that have attended -and actively participated- in at least 5 of the 7 sessions of the course.
- Students must pass evaluation activities with a minimum grade of 5.
