Political Theory
and critical Geography (cum laude). It analyzed the water conflict Barcelona
and the production of populist discourses by social movements and companies.
Since then, I have obtained a Juan de la Cierva Formación fellowship
(ranked 4th nationally in the Political Science panel). My career is the reflection of an important turn in
contemporary research, where political scientists are increasingly working side
by side, finding common scientific language and methods with geographers,
planners and environmental scientists. I have produced innovative conceptual
work on populist ecologies and memorialization of water, hydrosocial
conflicts, the potential for authoritarianism in the rising digitalization and
artificial intelligence applications in water, or in the far-right 'green'
narratives.
I co-founded and coordinated the Socionatural Systems research lineat
LEQUIA-UdG, an environmental social sciences team. My
teaching integrates political ecology, governance and socio-environmental
methods into engineering and environmental science programs.
I am currently Principal Investigator of 4 projects (2 EU projects,
1 research contract and 1 industrial doctorate). looking at the governance, narratives, and non-state actor
involvement in environmental policies. I substantially contribute to project
writing, often as the un-official project coordinator. These projects have
strengthened my worldwide network, including partners at BOKU Vienna, Ljubljana
University University, University College Dublin, Manchester University (4
universities where I have served as visiting fellow), Colombia
University, Humboldt University, City University of London or Pompeu Fabra
University (especially the Political Theory group). I am proficient in
qualitative methods with my main specialization in QDA and discourse analysis
(with NVivo and Atlas.ti tools).
