From July 1997 to September 2009: care nurse in different hospitals. In 2005 I obtained the post of civil servent at Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and later transferred to Dr Josep Trueta Hospital. My assistance practice has been in the hospital field, in recent years it was in the emergency and onco-hematology services.
Between 2001 and 2008 I worked on 13 different projects in Africa, in humanitarian emergencies with the NGO Doctors Without Borders.
Since 2009 full-time teacher in the Department of Nursing.
My scientific career began in 2009 when I joined the Department of Nursing full-time, coinciding with the deployment of the Nursing Degree in the new European Higher Education Area. In 2012 I completed the Master's in Health Promotion and in 2016 I defended my doctorate with a Cum Laudem qualification. The main lines of research are 1) HEALTHY AGEING, 2) HEALTH PROMOTION and 3) TEACHING QUALITY IMPROVEMENT, which have led to a scientific contribution of 24 indexed articles, 12 of which Q1 or Q2 according to JCR or SCOPUS and the rest with other quality indicators relative to the nursing's field.
1) Healthy ageing (ES): it was the central theme of the doctoral thesis, being the first thesis derived from the MESGI50 study (Maturity and Satisfactory Aging in Girona) which was part of the European SHARE consortium. The aim was to study the prevalence of ES in Europe based on two different models (biopsychosocial and biomedical). A Q2 article was published and I won the First Accèssit in the 1st Edition of "Premios de Investigación en Enfermería 'Fundación Vila Saborit'", category 'Doctoral theses' in nursing from Catalonia. The management of the SHARE database and the deepening of the ES study allowed me to participate in the cross-border Project Prospectsaso, 65% financed by the FEDER within the framework of the Interreg VA Spain-France-Andorra Program, in the working group of objective 4.9, where I led as principal investigator the study 'Healthy Aging at Home', which resulted in a Q1 publication. This is a qualitative study that I was able to carry out from the 4-month research stay at the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (University of Toronto (UOT)) in Canada, located in second position in the world ranking of Faculties of Nursing according to the QS World University Rankings. This stay served to complement my training in qualitative research at the Center for Critical Qualitative Health Research. I have been able to make scientific contributions in different national and international forums and congresses, I have given invited presentations at main conferences of a geriatrics congress, I have published book chapters. I have also carried out knowledge transfer experiences in collaboration with public institutions (Town Council and Civic Center of Celrà, Girona) providing advice to achieve a change in the gerontological model in the application of leisure time for the elderly. I co-direct a thesis on healthy ageing with the SHARE database, from which we published an article on the influence of determinants of health and quality of life of older people in Europe in a Q1 journal. I am currently participating in a European cross-border project 'The participation of people in the network of social services and entities of socio-educational and community intervention' IR6A - EU INTERREG VI A (2021-2027) in the line of aging.
2) Health promotion: within the framework of the consolidated research group 'Health and Health Care' (GRCT60) of which I am part since 2017, I have collaborated in other scientific contributions in relation to the Salutogenic Model, the validation of a SOC-13 questionnaire, the sense of coherence (SOC) in nurses from the socio-health field and migrant women. Also in other studies focused on the quality of care in the field of primary care and expert patient programs for people with multiple sclerosis.
3) Improvement of teaching quality: I have recognized 2 teaching sections, the last one with an 'A' rating. I have developed research to increase the quality of teaching and also in relation to teaching innovation. The highest quality publications related to this area are 2 articles published in 2016 in the journal Nurse Education Today (Q1) that analyze the achievement of practicum competencies and reflective learning, as well as other article publications in relation to in the practicum of of mental health and the ACOE. Since 2018 I have been a member of the Teaching Innovation Network on the Flipped Classroom, which is a methodology that I apply and of which we published a systematic review in 2024 in Educacion XXI (Q1). I am director of a master's degree in comprehensive care in oncology. I have tutored more than 40 TFG and several TFM from official masters and from the UdG Foundation. For two years (2020-2022) I held a management position as study coordinator for the Nursing Degree at the UdG.
