I am an Assistant Professor (Professor Lector) at the Department of Architecture and Construction Engineering of the University of Girona (UdG), where I joined the academic staff in 2026. I hold a PhD in Construction Engineering from UPC-BarcelonaTech and a degree in Architecture from the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB-UPC). My academic background includes two Erasmus+ mobility experiences: one at IUAV University of Venice in 2011 and another at the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiBACT) in the Venetian Lagoon in 2015, where I undertook an international internship focused on architectural heritage. My research focuses on the experimental mechanical characterisation of masonry structures, combining laboratory testing with in-situ assessment using minor destructive (MDT) and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques. My work particularly addresses the characterisation of masonry materials, including solid clay bricks and mortars, and the development and validation of experimental procedures for the structural assessment of existing and historic masonry. I am a member of the International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH), the RILEM Technical Committee 330-CTM – Testing Methods for Masonry Cores, and the International Masonry Society (IMS). Through these networks, I contribute to international collaborative activities related to masonry characterisation, structural assessment and the conservation of architectural heritage.
