Irene Fontdevila-Sibat is a professor in the Department of Specific Didactics at the University of Girona where she carries out teaching and research activities in the field of music education. She also teaches at the Liceu Conservatory, contributing to the Bachelor of Music (BMus) with a specialization in Music Pedagogy. Since 2004, she has taught Music Theory in various music schools, as well as choir, piano, and ensemble classes for early childhood and primary education. Since 2016, she has been a member of the teaching and coordination team of the Music Program for Social Inclusion in Primary Education, a social initiative led by the Liceu Conservatory in collaboration with the Ferrer Music Foundation. She has developed educational materials for introductory music learning and holds a PhD in Music Education. Her research focuses on collective composition, social inclusion, the teacher’s role, and self-regulated learning, with the aim of improving educational practice in diverse and inclusive musical contexts.
