Robert Brian Tate

Doctor Honoris Causa

The University of Girona awards an honorary degree to Dr Robert Brian Tate for his valuable contribution to the field of history in the field of thought; because he has helped us to rethink history through his research about the humanistic Latin historiography of the Iberian Peninsula, and especially of the Crown of Aragon and one of its main figures, Joan Margarit Pau, cardinal and bishop of Girona; and for the generous donation of the historiographical archives, material, documents and works from his library; and for his active presence in teaching and research at the University of Girona, by agreement of the UdG’s Governing Council in session 4/04 of 6 May 2004, at the proposal of the Department of Philology and Philosophy of the University of Girona.
