Miquel Roca Junyent

Doctor Honoris Causa

Miquel Roca Junyent (Cauderan, France,1940) graduated in Law in 1961, after which he started to work as a lawyer and a teacher at the University of Barcelona. He has been a member of parliament since 1977, he was designated a member of the Constitutional Report and later a member of the commission that drafted the Statute of Catalonia.

The University of Girona has awarded him this qualification for his contribution to the knowledge of Law and Economics, for his teaching in applying legal know-how to the most valuable goals of Law; for his link to university life and for his humane values and commitment to Catalonia and freedom, expressed in an irrefutable way in his decisive contribution to drafting the constitutional text and the text of the first Statute after the restoration of democracy, by agreement of the Governing Council of the University of Girona, in session 7/08 of 25 September 2008, at the proposal of the Faculty of Law of the University of Girona.
