The aim is to inspire UdG students to jointly build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to social challenges, with the aim of developing solidarity and promoting active citizenship and a mutual understanding between people.

  • How long does volunteering last?
  • What issues are there?
  • Am I alone during volunteering?
  • What requirements do I have to meet to take part in?

If you have such queries, it's normal! For this reason, at the UdG we offer you personalised advice, to analyse your personal and professional purposes, and to propose the most suitable alternatives and resources.

Our subsidised volunteering programmes cover travel, accommodation and subsistence allowances. Totally free!Furthermore, if you are a bachelor's degree student, you can obtain academic recognition credits by doing international volunteering!

Temporarily, the International Volunteering Advisory Service at the University of Girona will be attended by Júlia Cubarsí Vila.

For any queries or to arrange an advisory appointment, you can contact her directly by telephone 972 22 00 70 or by email julia.cubarsi@ajgirona.cat

INFORMATION ABOUT ACADEMIC CREDIT VALIDATION

Recognised academic credit transfers will be awarded for taking part in EU-subsidised international volunteer programmes.

  • A stay lasting between 1 week and one month is equivalent to 2 academic recognition credits.
  • A stay of 1 to 3 months is equivalent to 4 academic recognition credits.
  • A stay of more than 3 months is equivalent to 6 academic recognition credits.

*Dual bachelor's degree students should check whether they can obtain academic recognition credits, by contacting the secretary’s office at their Faculty/School.

To gain recognition for the credits, you will need to submit a report detailing the activities carried out within a month after finishing the voluntary work.Additionally, you will be required to show your Youthpass (certificate of competences) issued by the programme’s coordinating body.

Remember that participation in one of the International Voluntary Work Projects subsidised by the European Union counts as one of the three activities needed to obtain the “International Competence Recognition” (RECI).
