The University Debating League is an activity directed at all students at the University of Girona. Its main objective is to foster the use of words through the dialectic confrontation between two teams, where each has to defend a position (in favour or against) with respect to a debate topic taken from current affairs.

The Universitat de Girona Debating League is divided into two basic stages: the training stage and the debating contests. The first stage consists of a series of theoretical-practical sessions where students can develop their debating skills. The second stage is the competition per se, where the teams will face each other, adopting a stance on topical issues.
