A member of the Institute of Computer Vision and Robotics Research (VICOROB) and the SGR Advanced Image Analysis (AIA) research group, his research focuses on computer vision, AI applied to medical image analysis, pattern recognition, and computer-assisted diagnosis (CAD). In academic management, he has been the coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus VIBOT (Computer Vision and Robotics) master's degree, deputy rector for master's degrees, and Vice-Rectorate for Strategic Projects and Internationalisation.
