How to get the discount?

During the first quadrimester of 2025, you can get a travel pass that will be valid until 30 April and, in that way, continue benefiting from free RENFE travel to any station in your local Rodalies (commuter service) area.

Here we explain how to get the free discount for frequent travellers and how to use it.Get your discount at the usual sales points: automatic ticket machines and ticket windows in stations.Don’t leave it till the last minute!

What is it and how can I benefit from it?

• The discount is valid for four months (expiry date 30 April 2025).
• To get the discount you need to register in advance on renfe.com or on the Renfe of Renfe Rodalies apps.
• You can acquire it now via the usual sales points: the Renfe Rodalies app, automatic ticket machines and ticket windows in stations.
• The subscription is free, but to acquire it users must pay a deposit of 10 euros.We recommend you that you make the payment with a debit/credit card.
• The deposit will be refunded to your card automatically after the four-month period as long as you have made a minimum of 16 journeys (remember to validate your ticket when starting the journey; in some cases you will also have to validate it upon exit).
• It is essential to keep the QR code (if you purchase it using the Renfe Rodalies app) and the physical ticket with the magnetic strip on it and any other proof of purchase until the deposit for the free travel is refunded to you, as they may be needed to request the refund or resolve any incident that might arise during the process.

Important, remember

Do not forget that until you have received the refund for the deposit, you should keep the discount (QR for digital purchases or TSC for physical purchases) and the ticket or purchase receipt.These documents may be needed for the refund procedure or to resolve any incident that might arise in the process.

If you pay with a bank card

If you pay with bank card you will not have to anything: the deposit will be returned automatically, providing you have made at least 16 journeys and your discount is not on the list of infringements compiled through anti-fraud measures.

If, after a reasonable period of time, you have not received the refund for your deposit, you will need to go to a customer service point and fill in the refund form so that your case can be reviewed.

If you pay in cash

If you pay the deposit in cash, you can request the refund at any point of sale.You will need to show the discount, your ID card and the purchase receipt.If the refund cannot be issued on the spot for some reason, you will need to fill in the refund form with all your information.Our after-sales staff will review the case and get back to you indicating if you are entitled to the refund of the deposit or not.

During the free travel period for frequent travellers, the sale of all other usual discounted tickets will be suspended, although tickets purchased before this period will retain their original validity, meaning they can still be used.

Regional or middle-distance monthly pass

Valid for 30 days, from the day of purchase (n) plus 29 days (n+29), for unlimited journeys on the route and periods permitted during the 30 days.Personal and untransferable subscription.

It is the transfer allowed of trains in the stations of the itinerary, in the journeys pointed out to arrive to the UdG.

To send the subscription will be necessary showing the identification card of student of the academic year in progress (and/or sheet of enrolment) in the ticket offices of the station.

The PDI and the PAS will have to show the crediting documentation in force for the expedition of the certificate.

It can be acquired until ten days before the date of beginning of its validity.

Discount features

• Regional monthly subscription or half a distance: Valid for 30 days, from the day of the purchase (n) more 29 days (n+29), allow to carry out unlimited journeys in the journey and periods subscribed during the 30 days.Personal and untransferable subscription.

• BONO EXPRÈS: Subscription for ten single journeys.These tickets do not bear their holder’s name. They can be used by more than one passenger at the same time, provided they all have the same origin-destination and as many cancellations as passengers are made.
  Validity:  valid for ninety days, from day n to day n+89. It can be acquired until ten days before the date of beginning of its validity.
• QUARTERLY: Unlimited journeys for ninety days (from the day n until the day n+89). Nominative certificate.The DNI or crediting document for its acquisition and intervention be necessary. It can be acquired until ten days before the date of beginning of its validity.
• PLUS card 10 Students (trains AHEAD): 10 journeys to use in 10 days. The Studying card Plus 10 is nominative, individual and untransferable, with the that 10 journeys of going or return can be carried out indistintament in trains Ahead and between two stations you specify. Identification card of student be necessary.
• PLUS pass (AVANT trains): modular pass allowing 30, 35, 40, 45 or 50 journeys to be booked and which have to be used within 30 days.

The agreement UdG-Renfe, signed in February 1999, offers one for the  University Community (students, PAS and PDI) discount of 5% to the monthly subscription of general character.This means one discount superior to 60% about the tariff basis (simple note).
