  • Selecting your subjects

Very important: Before choosing any subjects, please make sure that timetables are compatible. Coordinating schedules is much easier if you select subjects from a single degree programme and the same academic year.

  • Timetables

Timetables are organized by degree and year to help you plan your selection- TIMETABLES

Before your arrival, you will only be able to view the theory classes schedules for each subject.

Most subjects also include practical sessions, but you will be assigned to a practice group only after completing your registration.

As a general rule:

- If the theory class is in the morning, the practical session is usually scheduled in the afternoon.

- If the theory class is in the afternoon, the practical session is typically in the morning.

For this reason, we strongly recommend choosing subjects from a single degree and the same academic year to avoid timetable conflicts.

  • Subjects taught in english

Please note that most subjects are taught in Catalan. There is, however, a limited number of subjects offered in English, which you may choose as long as the timetables are compatible.  List of subjects taught in english 2025-26 - Timetables of subjects in english

  • Experimental Project

If you do not speak Catalan or Spanish, the Experimental Project may be the most suitable option for you. However, acceptance by a ressearch group is required before your arrival.

Each academic year, a list of available Experimental Projects is published.  List Experimental Projects 2025-26

If you are interested in taking part in an Experimental Project—even if it appears on the list—you must contact the responsible professor to confirm whether the position is still available. Before your arrival, you must submit to the Academic Secretariat a confirmation from the hosting professor. An email from the professor is sufficient.

The course Experimental Project carries between 6 and 30 ECTS, depending on your laboratory dedication. The exact number of credits must be agreed upon between the supervising professor and the student.

  • Information about degrees and subjects

You can find detailed information about the Bsc and Msc degrees offered at the Faculty of Sciences here: https://www.udg.edu/ca/fc

In particular, you can explore subjects from the following degrees:

- Bsc in BIOLOGY,

- Bsc in BIOTECHNOLOGY

- Bsc in CHEMISTRY

- Bsc in ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES.

- Master degrees - enrolment must be approved by the coordinador of the corresponding master's programme.

  • Attendance and laboratory requirements

Class attendance is compulsory.
For laboratory sessions, you must wear a laboratory coat.

  • Learning agreement

Once you have verified that the timetables of your selected subjects are compatible, you may proceed to complete your LEARNING AGREEMENT .

Arrival and Registration Procedures

Upon your arrival at the Faculty of Sciences, you will be greeted by the Vice Dean for International Relations during a dedicated welcome session designed to introduce you to the faculty and provide essential information for your stay.

Afterwards, you must complete your academic registration at the Secretary’s Office of the Faculty of Sciences. The office is located on the 1st floor, at the top of the main staircase.  (Contact person: Roser Collell)

During this process, you will receive a username and password that will allow you to access your UdG account and the UdG App.

If you are unable to attend the Welcome Day when you arrive at the University of Girona (UdG), your first stop should be the International Office. They will sign your Certificate of Arrival, if required by your home university.

Alternatively, you may send the certificate by email to: incoming.oi@udg.edu.

The International Office is located at Mòdul 20, Campus Montilivi. You can find general information on their website

Transcript of Records and Certification of Attendance

At the end of your stay, the Secretary’s Office of the Faculty of Sciences will issue a digitally signed Transcript of Records, which will include the grades for all the courses and/or the Experimental Project you have completed.

Additionally, the International Office will provide you with a Certificate of Attendance covering the full duration of your stay in Girona. To receive this certificate, you must inform the office of your exact departure date. You may contact them via email at: incoming.oi@udg.edu.
