Description:
Analysis of different significant fragments of cinematographic works, to identify techniques of editing used, applying communicative and expressive criteria. Practices will be centered in editing of determined materials according to a set of instructions given. Syllabus

1. Introduction with a retrospective of historical cinematographic examples to analyse general concepts, editing functions and creative processes.

2. Filming-editing relationship, basic rules of editing, editing rhythm, editing practice, cinematographic artistic concepts, sound artistic concepts in editing.

3. Introduction to Professional Video Editing Software: interface, project settings, importing media, editing clips, editing projects, basic sound correction, creating titles, overlay and composition, animating a clip and exporting project.

    Theory Exam The test will take into account all the knowledge acquired during the course, including the theory of editing and its artistic concepts. 15 No

    Grading

    Students must achieve a minimum final grade of 5 in order to pass the course.

    Specific criteria for the "No show" grade:
    All tasks and projects must be submitted by the specified deadlines in order for the student to be eligible to sit the final examination. Failure to do so will result in a 'No Presentat' (Absent) designation, which disqualifies the student from passing the course, except in cases of officially approved special circumstances.

    Furthermore, if the total amount of submitted work constitutes less than 25% of the required coursework, the student will also receive a 'No Presentat' (Absent) status and will be ineligible to pass the course.

    Single Assessment:
    To complete and submit all assigned tasks and the final project within the established deadlines, and to pass both the practical and theoretical examinations.

    Minimum requirements to pass:
    Students must achieve a grade of 5 or higher to pass the course.
