Dr. Pere Boadas-Vaello graduated in Biochemistry (2004) and earned his Doctorate in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona (2008). During his predoctoral training, he conducted research at the laboratories of Prof. Kari Majamaa (Biocenter Oulu, Finland), Prof. Jordi Llorens (Physiological Sciences II, UB), and Prof. Josep Maria Bayona (IIQAB-CSIC). After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Boadas-Vaello served as a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellow at the Neuroscience Institute of Bellaterra INc-UAB (Lab of Prof. Margarita Martí) and as a BE-AGAUR postdoctoral fellow at the Brain Mind Institute of Lausanne BMI-EPFL (Switzerland, Lab of Prof. Carmen Sandi). Throughout his pre and post-doctoral period, he acquired research skills in the field of Neuroscience, utilizing a wide variety of techniques, including behavioral assessments, molecular biology approaches, and analytical chemistry analysis. In 2010, Dr. Boadas-Vaello secured an academic position as a Tenure-Track Lecturer at the Department of Medical Science of the University of Girona (UdG), where he has been working as an Associate Professor (Professor Agregat) since 2016. Currently, in addition to his academic duties (primarily in the Medicine Degree program), Dr. Pere Boadas-Vaello is a member and co-head of the NEOMA research group. His research focuses on the behavioral and pathological effects of toxic and traumatic lesions on sensory and motor systems, while also developing new advanced analytical methodologies with biomedical applications.
