He was one of the founders of LEQUIA research group and his Director. He has participated in more than 50 R&D projects, has directed 24 doctoral theses, and is co-author of 118 articles in scientific journals (SCI). Prof Poch’s research has evolved from the mathematic modelling of environmental processes to the development of environmental decision support systems (EDDS), particularly those related with the water cycle. Prof Manel Poch has also held several management academic positions, such as UdG vici-rector of Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, Director of Department of Chemical and Agro-food Engineering, Dean of the UdG Faculty of Sciences, head of “Technologies and Evaluation Area” of the Catalan Institute for Water Research, and scientific coordinator of Euro-Mediterranean Campus of International Excellence on Water and Tourism. Regarding technology transfer, Prof Poch’s has signed more than 30 contracts and agreements with private organisations and was founding partner of the spin-off company SISLtech devoted to the commercialization of supervision systems for wastewater treatment plants.
