Adrià Duran Sidera is an assistant professor at the biochemistry and molecular biology area at the department of biology and a researcher in the Biochemistry of cancer research group. He graduated in biotechnology at the University of Girona (2016), where he subsequently obtained a doctorate in molecular biology, biomedicine and health (2023) under the direction of Dr. Rosa Peracaula and Dr. Esther Llop. During his PhD, he developed methodologies for pancreatic cancer detection based on altered glycosylation of serum glycoproteins, using protein purification techniques, carbohydrate identification (using lectins) and characterization of glycoforms by MALDI-MS and LC-MS. He also specialized in N-glycan sequencing during a stay at the National Center for Bioprocessing Research and Training in Dublin. Currently, his research interests focus on the targeted analysis of glycoproteins as potential biomarkers for cancer detection.
