Previously she had obtained the degrees of Teacher and Pedagogue, both from the University of Barcelona (UB). She is currently Full Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Girona. She teaches on the Psychology, Social Education and Social Work degrees at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, as well as on the Master in Psychosocial Intervention (coordinated by the UB) and the Master in Social Policy and Community Action (IGOP-UAB). Previously she worked for 13 years as a professional in the field of child protection in the City Council of Barcelona, 5 years as a primary school teacher and 5 years working in the field of services for people with disabilities. She was a member of the ERIDIQV Research Team on the rights of children and adolescents and their quality of life at the IRQV (2003-2019). Since 2019 she is coordinator of Liberi, Research Group on Childhood, Youth and Community (www.udg.edu/liberi). Her main areas of research are related to children and young people in vulnerable situations, the protection system, subjective wellbeing and children's rights. She has published books and articles in several languages, including numerous articles in indexed scientific journals and in prestigious international publishers. She has a long history of participation in competitive research at both European and national level, as well as in applied research with agreements with public administrations and NGOs. She has also collaborated with the Council of Europe as an international consultant in the programme "Building a Europe for and with children" (2007-2009). In 2011 she did a research stay at the Social Policy Research Unit of the University of York (UK) and in 2012 at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). Since then she has been carrying out short research and teaching stays at international universities. She is a member of international thematic networks, scientific councils and committees such as the International Association for Outcome-Based Evaluation and Research on Child and Family Services (iaOBERfcs), the Observatory for Children's Rights of the Generalitat de Catalunya, as well as an associate editor of the journal Children and Youth Services Review.
