Senior lecturer at the Department of Biology, area of ??Biochemistry, and researcher of the Biochemistry of the Cancer research group. Member of the Cancer Biochemistry and Clinics consolidated research group (2009SGR717- 2014SGR229) (Generalitat de Catalunya). PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona (2003). I have carried out a predoctoral stay in the USA and a four-year postdoctoral stay (2003-2007) at the Liver Unit, Hospital Clínic, IDIBAPS, in Barcelona. My research has focused on different fields of biomedicine: (1) Analysis of the contribution of the adhesion molecules to the inflammatory processes, (2) Analysis of the genetic variability of the hepatitis C virus in response to treatment, (3) Development of new strategies for the treatment of cancer. This research line begins with my incorporation to the University of Girona (2007) and focuses on the study of the resistance mechanisms to treatment directed against the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family as well as the development of new therapeutic strategies, as well as on the targeted drug delivery to tumors. During this period, I have carried out an interdisciplinary research in collaboration with research groups from different universities. Overall, I have participated in 9 funded research projects and in 3 collaboration agreements with biotechnology companies. I have published more than 40 articles in international journals and I have directed 4 doctoral theses.
